First reading: 2 Timothy 1:13-14,2:1-3

Keep as your pattern the sound teaching you have heard from me, in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. You have been trusted to look after something precious; guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us. Accept the strength, dear son, that comes from the grace of Christ Jesus. You have heard everything that I teach in public: hand it on to reliable people so that they in turn may be able to teach others. Put up with your share of difficulties, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus.
Responsorial Psalm: Psalm 1:1-4,6
|
His delight is the law of the Lord.
Happy indeed is the man
who follows not the counsel of the wicked;
nor lingers in the way of sinners
nor sits in the company of scorners,
but whose delight is the law of the Lord
and who ponders his law day and night.
His delight is the law of the Lord.
He is like a tree that is planted
beside the flowing waters,
that yields its fruit in due season
and whose leaves shall never fade;
and all that he does shall prosper.
His delight is the law of the Lord.
Not so are the wicked, not so!
For they like winnowed chaff
shall be driven away by the wind:
for the Lord guards the way of the just
but the way of the wicked leads to doom.
His delight is the law of the Lord.
Alleluia, alleluia!
The greatest among you must be your servant, says the Lord:
the man who humbles himself will be exalted.
Alleluia!
